POSITION SUMMARY:
The Bartender prepares and serves beverages to guests in the bar area in a friendly, courteous and timely manner. You should be knowledgeable, attentive, and focused on providing the best possible service in a fast-paced environment. You should be efficient, reliable, and perceptive with excellent communication and time management skills.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares alcoholic, non-alcoholic and other beverages for customers and servers in accordance with standard recipes.
- Adheres to proper alcohol handling, sanitation, and safety procedures, and maintains appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of all beverage items.
- Checking ID to ensure members/guests are of legal age to purchase alcohol.
- Applies knowledge of the full menu, beverages and other restaurant information such as restaurant hours and types of payment.
- Checks and maintains stock of glassware, beverages and bar supplies and communicates shortages to management.
- Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses and serving beverages to members/guests.
- Collects payments and operates cash registers for drinks and/or food served following company established cash handling policies and procedures for all transactions; secures all monies at the end of each shift.
- Communicates health and/or safety concerns/violations immediately to management.
- May perform other duties as assigned by management.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ ABILITIES:
- Must have a great attitude.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Thorough knowledge of alcohol serving practices and standards.
- Working knowledge of point-of-sale computers and software.
- Strong problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, ability to handle tense situations with coworkers and customers calmly and rationally.
- Ability to meet physical and scheduling demands of the position, including, walking, standing, or lifting heavy items for extended periods and working nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Restaurant experience preferred.
- High School Diploma/GED required
