Position Title: Estimator

Department: Sales Support

Reports To: Sales Support Manager

Position Type: Regular full-time

General Summary

Responsible for performing takeoffs of various materials & assisting sales support team with bidding residential & commercial jobs.

Essential Job Functions

• Import blueprints into estimating software to prepare takeoffs.
• Responsible for reviewing bid documents, examining plans and specifications.
• Responsible assisting sales staff with preparing bids while quantifying and qualifying all material quantities.
• Responsible for creating takeoffs plans by using estimating software.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Some knowledge of flooring and tiling industry: carpet, hardwood, resilient and ceramic tile.
• General PC knowledge, Microsoft Excel a plus.
• Ability to work under pressure, work with deadlines, and within a team environment to best achieve excellent and timely results
• Intermediate math skills.
• Detail oriented, ability to work independently.
• Must be familiar with reading and understanding blueprints.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer Experience in estimating or familiarity of estimating software.
• Prefer experience in the construction or building materials supply industry.

Other Requirements

• This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
• Fundamental mathematic comprehension required.
• Ability to multi-task is required.
• Travel required: none
