We are seeking a skilled Diesel / Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team, here at Edward Arnold Scrap and EASCO Brokerage!
The ideal candidate will have experience working with Mack tractors, trailers, and heavy equipment.
If you are passionate about maintaining and repairing diesel engines, this position is for you!
**Anyone with commercial agricultural equipment repair experience is welcome to apply, too!

*PAY RATE:* Minimum starting wage range of $18.75-$40.00/hr based on experience

*RESPONSIBILITIES:*
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines in various vehicles and equipment
- Perform routine maintenance on diesel/gas engines including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks
- Use hand tools to disassemble engine parts for repair or replacement
- Operate heavy equipment to test repaired engines
- Conduct electrical repairs
-Cleans/ repairs and or reconditions equipment and its components
-Identify the problem and any cause of failure
-Repairs and/ or replaces parts as needed after proper diagnosis
-Replaces and adjusts breaks and all components to breaks
-Adjusts, repairs or replaces all wiring hardware to lighting on work trucks
-Works with hydraulic jacks, hoists and other tools required to complete work safely
-Repairs/ replaces alternators, compressors, differentials and transmissions
-Can repair/ replace parts such as starters, alternators starters, pumps and clutches.
-Can be able to service transmissions
-Maintains a safe and clean work environment

*EXPERIANCE:*
- Ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues- Document and communicate with other team members to get the problem fixed. We ask that you be able to transmit findings effectively
- Proficiency in heavy lifting and operating heavy equipment safely. This would include material handling and or operate a forklift.
-Hydraulic
- Familiarity with a variety of hand tools commonly used in diesel engine repair
-Performs other work-related tasks in a timely and efficient manner.

*PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:*
-Minimum of 2 years' experience as a heavy duty/ diesel mechanic
-Experience with brands such as Mack and Cummins
-Proficient in mechanical systems (transmissions, hydraulics, gas and diesel motors)
-Able to interpret vehicle diagnosing software
- Strong problem-solving skills- Must be detail oriented with high accuracy
-Able to lift anywhere from 10-30 pounds
-Perform duties with a sense of urgency and accuracy
-Obtain the ability to work with others and independently
-Able to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment
-Maintain tool/ part inventory sufficient to perform assigned tasks
