Magical AI Engineer Role

Magical is redefining how work gets done. Our agentic AI platform brings "AI employees" into the workplace to take over the repetitive, soul-crushing workflows that slow teams down. The result: organizations move faster, with sharper focus, and deliver better outcomes where it matters most, like improving patient care.

The shift to agentic work is inevitable, and we're leading it. We've scaled from $0 -> $XM ARR in a few months with our agentic product, and we're looking for engineers to help us reach $XXM ARR. As a founding engineer, you won't just be writing code, you'll be shaping the playbook for the future of work alongside a small, relentless team pushing the edge of what's possible with AI.

We're backed by the investors behind OpenAI, Anthropic, Huggingface, and Notion, including Greylock, Coatue, and Lightspeed. The runway is long. The ambition is high. And the market is wide open.

About the Role

• Push the frontier of how agents interact with the browser, improving speed, reliability, and coverage across real-world apps
• Build and evolve how multiple agents collaborate to solve complex workflows
• Design and scale the systems that make Magical run seamlessly on desktop, unlocking enterprise-grade stability and performance
• Build rigorous verification systems that guarantee our agents are doing the right thing every time

About You

• Have some experience in TypeScript and React
• Have been coding outside of work for 5+ years, through side projects, open source, and more recently, AI
• Have a strong bias towards action, a willingness to do whatever it takes, and embody show > tell
• Have a strong sense of agency, effectively prioritizing and unblocking yourself without much outside input.
• Value taking ownership and responsibility for your projects and systems.
• Studied Computer Science (or related field), or dropped out to build stuff
• Located in SF/Toronto or willing to relocate

• Frontend: Next.js, Shadcn, Tanstack, Tailwind, Zustand, and Vite
