Job Description
Summary
We are seeking a bilingual (Spanish), driven, detail-oriented legal assistant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting attorneys in all stages of litigation, and comfortable working with a laptop both in the office and at home. Prior civil litigation experience in the legal field is required. Training will be provided, and all candidates are subject to a 90-day trial period. Compensation is competitive and is commensurate with experience. This is a hybrid position with Tuesday through Thursday being mandatory in office time, and Mondays and Fridays being optional work from home days.
Responsibilities
· Coordinating telephone conferences, court hearings, depositions and mediations between the firm’s attorneys, opposing counsel, the client(s), and the judge’s assistants
· Following and completing firm workflows in the case management system.
· Drafting simple motions and notices (ex. Motions for Extension, Notice of Settlement, Notice of Hearing)
· Eservice – filing and serving court documents, uploading documents served on the firm and calendaring deadlines
· Following the firm’s naming conventions when saving documents to the appropriate folder
· Adhering to Court and Law Firm deadlines
Qualifications
· Bilingual – fluent in speaking and writing in preferably Spanish, but will consider Vietnamese and other languages that match our client’s needs.
· Ability to work remotely and in Orlando office Tuesdays through Thursdays, and Monday and Fridays in an optional remote capacity.
· Proficient computer and writing skills.
o Ability to search the internet to obtain needed information quickly.
o Comfortable drafting documents in Microsoft Word format.
o Ability to use Adobe to edit documents.
