Job Description

Akerman LLP, a top 100 U.S. law firm serving clients across the Americas, is seeking a part-time Office Services Clerk for its Washington, DC office. The successful candidate should be highly motivated with a strong ability to multi-task and be well organized in a fast-paced environment.

Duties of this position include:

  • Sort and distribute incoming and interoffice mail.
  • Assist in processing Federal Express and overnight courier requests.
  • Make photocopies, binders for closings, spiral bound books etc. and deliver finished projects according to schedule.
  • Assist with trouble shooting technical problems with copiers.
  • Post meter mail and packages for delivery to post office/mailbox.
  • Fulfill office supply requests.
  • Stock, organize and clean supply rooms and pantries.
  • Conference room set up and clean up for all client and internal meal functions, including monitoring conference room schedule.
  • Assist with special office events, set up, dcor, and other related logistics.
  • Assist with moving boxes and light inter-office moves, and packing offices for departing employees.
  • Preparing offices and workstations for new hires and visitors.
  • Back up for Receptionist - greet visitors, answer telephone screen and direct calls, reserve conference rooms.
  • Assist with general appearance of office, including walk around, compiling checklist for maintenance issues, and placing maintenance requests with vendors and building management.
  • Maintain the Events/Birthday White Board.
  • Other administrative responsibilities as requested.

The working hours will be 10:00 am to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Qualified candidates require a high school diploma and a minimum of (2) years' related experience, preferably within a law firm environment; working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; and be able to comfortably lift up to 15-20 lbs. The ability to develop rapport with employees and maintain strong working relationships is important. Must exhibit meticulous attention to detail and produce accurate and high-quality work product.

Job Type : Part-Time (25 hours), occasional extended hours may be needed.

Schedule :Monday through Friday

Salary range :$19 hr. - $26 hr. (Actual salary is based on experience and job qualifications.)
