Anachronaut Productions is an independent animation studio, focusing on hybrid animation, founded in 2023. We currently are producing our first short film, Submersed. We are a fully remote studio, but are based in the United States.
We are looking for freelance 2D clean up animators, comfortable cleaning up 2D Character animation, for an upcoming short film to be released in Summer of 2024. This is a contracted remote short term position, and must be willing to work on a team of other clean up animators. This is an entry level position, and we welcome anyone to apply.
Responsibilities
Commit to deliverables and manage your goals within regular deadlines, while maintaining the appropriate style over the course of a project.
Willing to present work to a team, seek input, and incorporate feedback from leads.
Able to work on cleaning up be able to clean up complex character designs within the set style.
Be able to work in frame by frame animation, and not motion media or tweening.
Work within style of the film
Post weekly to Syncsketch with updates on your progress.
Qualifications
Toonboom Harmony – Toonboom Harmony Advanced or Premium is required for this position.
Solid drawing skills
Be able to meet deadlines set by the Producer
Fluency in English
A show reel or portfolio that showcases skills in 2D character clean up is required.
Have knowledge of how to use and edit the peg system in Toonboom Harmony
Bonus if you have previous experience in fix animation.
Additional
Some applicants may be required to take a simple clean up animation test for the film for character clean up.
Availability
We are a fully remote studio, based in the USA. However, you are able to work on your own time, and submit by specific dates. We do not require a set amount of hours or dates per week.
Compensation
Since we are are a small, independent studio, and are funded fully through Kickstarter and Patreon, the salaries of animators are based on how many shots they take per month. As such, the range of payment varies. Below is the range of minimum, from a single shot to several shots taken per month in a range.
2D : $500 USD – $1400 USD / MO
