Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for an overnight shift position requiring at least three years of experience and BLS certification.

Job Details

• Work in a healthcare sterile processing department,
• Overnight shift from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.,
• 13-week contract assignment,
• Expected to work every other weekend if requested by department manager,
• Fifty-mile radius rule applies for eligibility,

Job Requirements

• Minimum of three years recent sterile processing experience required,
• BLS certification is mandatory within three months of starting,
• CSPDT certification encouraged within 18 months of hire,
• Must maintain competency in sterile processing procedures,

Additional Information

• Responsible for cleaning, sterilizing, and preparing instrumentation according to established procedures,
• Transport soiled and sterile instruments to and from the operating room,
• Maintain good communication with coworkers and supervisor,
• May be assigned additional duties by the SPD supervisor, charge technician, or director,
• Traveler may only work two consecutive 13-week assignments before a required 26-week break at this facility,
• Facility recognizes holidays including Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Thanksgiving, Labor Day, Memorial Day, and Fourth of July,
• Facility reserves the right to cancel up to three shifts per 13-week assignment due to low census or staffing changes,
