Inventory Associate - Contract-to-Hire

Location: Regional Field Role (Within a 3-Hour Radius of Home Base)
Pay: $19.00 (Overtime Eligible After 40 Hours)
Travel: Daily regional travel; occasional overnight travel depending on division needs

A national inventory services company with more than 50 years of industry experience is expanding its field leadership team and is seeking an Inventory Associate to support and lead inventory audits at gas stations and convenience stores. This is a hands-on, field-based role that combines accuracy-driven work, team leadership, and direct client interaction.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in early-morning schedules, enjoys structured field work, and takes pride in leading teams through repeatable, high-accuracy processes. Inventory Associates play a critical role in delivering reliable results to clients while developing and supporting auditors in the field.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and participate in physical inventory audits at gas stations and convenience stores
• Supervise and work alongside small audit teams (typically 2–8 auditors)
• Accurately count inventory using a 10-key machine
• Review audit results and provide end-of-audit reports to store managers
• Identify, investigate, and resolve inventory discrepancies on-site
• Train, coach, and develop auditors to improve accuracy and performance
• Coordinate daily travel logistics, including carpooling
• Communicate audit outcomes and client-specific concerns to the Division Manager
• Complete administrative tasks such as payroll transmission and invoicing
• Work in varied environments including sales floors, stockrooms, coolers, and freezers

What You Bring

• Experience in inventory, auditing, retail operations, or field-based supervisory roles
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Ability to lead by example and provide hands-on coaching in the field
• Comfort working independently and interacting directly with clients
• Willingness to travel daily within a regional territory (up to a 3-hour radius)
• Ability to work early morning schedules (on-site by 6:00 AM)
• Valid driver’s license, active auto insurance, and ability to pass a motor vehicle check
• Ability to pass a background check
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods

Schedule & Travel

• Monday–Friday schedule; no weekend work
• Average 36–42 hours per week , depending on route and audit volume
• You must arrive on-site by 6:00 AM
• Commute time over 30 minutes is paid at the hourly rate
• Daily travel is required within a 3-hour radius of the home base
• Overnight travel may be required depending on division coverage and territory needs, but is covered through company

Compensation & Benefits

• $19/hourly with overtime after 40 hours per week
• Paid commute time for commutes exceeding 30 minutes
• Mileage reimbursement when acting as the driver (after 20 miles)
